According to the City of Calgary, a community celebration will be held for the old Zoobridge (aka St. George Island Bridge or 12th Street SE Bridge) on Saturday April 22, 2017, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on the south side of the bridge.
April 22 happens to be the 109th Anniversary of the passage of Bylaw 729 through third and final reading at City Council. Passage of this bylaw authorized the city to borrow the funds to build the Zoobridge.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their photos to share with the City and to discuss the plans for the site with the Public Artist, Brandon Vickerd, and there will be Girl Guides too.
